Irene C. Anderson (nee Swarm), September 29, 2015, age 98, of Roxborough.  Wife of the late John M. Sr.; mother of John Martin (Kathleen), Robert (Joan), Kenneth (Marie Minder) Anderson, Bonnie Shields (Richard), Patricia Donahue, Irene Madrak (Paul); 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  Irene was trained as a hairdresser and gave the state tests to certify new cosmetologists. She was recognized as Woman of the Year by the Soroptomist Club for her tireless work in the community as well as her work as a Republican Committee Woman.  She enjoyed cooking and travelling as well as spending time with her family in Point Pleasant, PA playing cards.  Irene was a graduate of Roxborough High School, class of 1936 and organized many of their class reunions.  Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Saturday,October 3 ^rd from 9 A.M. followed by Funeral Mass 11 A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church, 146 Rector St., Phila., PA 19127.  Interment Westminster Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Irene's memory to North Light Community Center, 175 Green Lane, Phila., PA  19127.
