Grace lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to family and community.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Grace C. Heywood, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who departed this world on September 6, 2026. Born on January 3, 1928, in Philadelphia, PA, Grace lived a life filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to family and community.
Grace was the cherished daughter of James and Florence Forsyth, who predeceased her, along with her dear sister Jane Copeland. She leaves behind a loving family that includes her son, Robert Heywood (Marilyn), daughters Nancy Gill (Steve) and Susan Trout (Steve), as well as her grandchildren: Steven, Valerie (Keith), Philip, Ryan (Jason), Jesse, and Alyssa (Brett). Grace delighted in the joy of being a great-grandmother to Logan, Joclyn, Willow, Koralyn, Cheyenne, Isabel, Easton, Jameson, Scarlett, and Beau.
For over 50 years, Grace devoted her professional life to Roxborough Memorial Hospital, ultimately retiring as the Coordinator of the Senior Network. Her commitment to helping others was evident to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Grace took immense pride in her work and was an inspiration to many who crossed her path.
An elegant woman, Grace always presented herself with grace and style. Known for her impeccable fashion sense and fondness for high heels, she had a zest for life, often seen dancing with a joyful spirit. Times with her son Robert and daughter-in-law Marilyn were especially dear to her heart, as the three proudly referred to themselves as the "three musketeers," sharing countless smiles, stories, and cherished moments together.
A celebration of Grace's extraordinary life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 beginning at 9 AM. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM. Those wishing to pay their respects will have the opportunity to join us in a service that reflects her loving spirit and dedication to family.
Grace will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the boundless love she shared with others. Though she may have left this world, her legacy will continue to thrive in the hearts and memories of all who loved her. Rest in peace, dear Grace. You will be sorely missed, but your spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our lives.
