Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary D. Jackson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on July 12, 2026, at the age of 65. Gary was born on July 10, 1961, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a steadfast devotion to his family.

Gary is survived by his cherished wife, Kathleen Jackson; his son, Gary Jr., and daughter-in-law, Lindsey; his daughter, Amber Jackson, and son-in-law, Alton Custus; and his precious grandchildren, Ava, Ella, Mila, and Aleena, who brought him immense joy and pride. Gary is survived by his brother John Scully, brother-in-law Shawn O'Connor, and Greg Sadowski, who he considers as a brother. He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Margaret and siblings, Michael and Steven Jackson.

A proud member of the Local 542 union, Gary dedicated nearly 17 years of his life as an operating engineer in the construction industry, where he forged lasting friendships and built a legacy of hard work and dedication. Beyond his professional achievements, Gary was an avid Harley Davidson rider and found happiness on the open road, exploring new places alongside his family and friends.

Gary's warmth, sense of humor, and unwavering love for those around him will be deeply missed. He touched the lives of many, and his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Gary's life. A time to greet family will take place on July 21, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Koller Funeral Home. On Wednesday, July 22nd, friends and family can again call at Holy Family Church in Manayunk beginning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment is Private.

In this time of grief and remembrance, we ask that you hold Gary's family close in your thoughts and prayers. May he rest in peace.
