It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frank E. Gioia, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Frank departed this world on July 13, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to his family and community.
Frank was a devoted bus driver for Sague Bus Company, connecting countless children to their schools over the years. Frank's unwavering commitment to his job mirrored his devotion to his family. He was proudly married to Doris Gioia for an incredible 64 years, a testament to their enduring love and partnership.
Frank is survived by his loving wife, Doris; his children, Francis Gioia (and wife Megan) and Deborah Capobianco (and husband David); and his cherished grandchildren, Derik Whitehouse (and wife Georgi), Tyler Whitehouse, and Brian and Kaitlyn Miller. He will be remembered as a devoted Pop, whose warmth and affection touched the lives of all his grandchildren.
A man of passion, Frank was a faithful fan of Philadelphia's sports teams, especially the Phillies and the Eagles, and he shared many cherished moments with his family cheering them on. His zest for life and his unwavering support for loved ones will always be remembered.
Frank is predeceased by his parents, Nicola and Madeline Gioia, and his siblings. He will be remembered fondly by is brother in law, Robert Wunder (and wife Janet) and sister in law, Vida Mae Glemser (husband Joe, deceased). His strong spirit and kind heart leave a void that will be profoundly felt by all who knew him.
In celebration of Frank's remarkable life, a public viewing will be held on July 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Koller Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. He will then be laid to rest at George Washington Memorial Park.
Though we grieve this loss, we take solace in celebrating the beautiful life Frank lived and the countless memories he created with his family and friends. He will forever be in our hearts.
