Eugene J. Remolde Sr., born February 12, 1923, died April 11, 2015, age 92. Son of the late George and Mary Remolde. Brother of Mary Flaherty and the late Lydia Troupe, Rose Mullen, and George Remolde Jr. He is survived by Doris Remolde, Gene Remolde Jr., Patricia Lochner, Damien Remolde, Corinne Despirito, and Scott Remolde. Preceded in death by his son Michael Remolde. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was born and raised in Manayunk where he attended St. John the Baptist High School for Boys. Eugene was in the Civilian Conservation Corps and was recruited to work in the Blue Ridge Mountains where he helped to build the historic Skyline Drive. In 1944, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps and was assigned as a Tail Gunner on a B-17 with the 303 ^rd Bomb Group stationed in England.  After the war, he started a long career as a tractor trailer driver and held various positions within the Teamsters Union. After retiring, Eugene volunteered at Frankford Torresdale Hospital working with patients. Relatives and friends are invited to viewing Friday at 9AM followed by Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church , 146 Rector St., Manayunk . Interment Private.
