Donald A. Nypower of Philadelphia passed away on January 25, 2022 at the age of 87. He was born on January 19, 1935 to the late Bartholomew and Olga Nypower. Donald is survived by one sister, Barbara (Joseph), loving wife Mary Ellen Nypower(Skladzien) and six devoted children: Michael, Mark, David, Juliana (Missy)Wojciechowski, Stephen and Claire Godlewski (Edward). Also survived by 9 grandchildren: Marissa Kreppel (David), Mark Jr (Bekka), Lauren Wojciechowski, Andrew, Matthew, Joseph, Sophie, Evelyn Godlewski, Lila Godlewski, and great-grandchildren Alexis, Sophia, Salem, Sirus and Sawyer. Also survived by several nieces and nephew. Donald was a retired Philadelphia Police lieutenant, Director of Social Sciences at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell. In addition he was a beloved professor of Criminal Justice and History.   Donald will always be remembered for his devotion to his family, in addition to his calm demeanor, words of wisdom, and beautiful smile. He was a second father to each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  You would often find Donald outside enjoying the sunlight and fresh air eating his favorite snacks, an orange and string cheese.

Family and friends are invited to call at 9 AM on Thursday, February 3 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 E Cathedral Rd., Philadelphia PA. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment is private.
