Gorman

DELIA M. GORMAN, January 27, 2016, age 58. City of Philadelphia Deputy Director of Labor Relations. Daughter of the late Thomas P. Gorman and Margaret J. (nee Lavin) Gorman; Sister of Thomas E. Gorman (Jessica Rich) and the late Rita Gorman (Ken Gilbert). Appointed by three Philadelphia mayors (Street, Rendell & Nutter) Delia served the City for nearly 30 years, bringing a bright mind and deep sense of fairness to her post. A graduate of Friends Select School and the University of Pennsylvania, Delia was also a lover of music, especially Irish music, and an accomplished musician herself, playing the guitar, flute and penny whistle – often sitting in for sessions at live music nights and Irish festivals. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, Feb. 12 from 9:00am to 10:30am for visitation, followed by a service at 10:45am, at Race Street Meeting House, The Religious Society of Friends, 1501 Cherry St., Phila., PA 19102. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Habitat for Humanity, 1829 North 19th St., Phila., PA 19121.
