David
Mcfadden
Jul 20, 1976 — Jan 1, 2023
David A. McFadden, Jr., January 1, 2023, Age 46. Son of the late David A. McFadden and Martha "Marty" McFadden. He is also survived by a sister, Jennifer, a niece and two Uncles, Steve and Tom as well as four loving cousins. David also leaves behind his girl of nearly a decade, his beloved fiancee Sarah. David was a lifelong resident of Roxborough, attending Roxborough Community Christian School, Shawmont School and Graduating from W.B. Saul High School. David worked for the School District of Philadelphia for almost 30 years, starting as a building engineer and most recently as a steamfitter. Nature and the outdoors were always near and dear to his heart. As a child he played on the Indians Soccer team for a number of years. He was a Boy Scout and eventually attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Loving Halloween, he became one of the Grisly's as he worked helping Al and Sarah in building, repairing and breaking down their haunted house. After learning to sail he crewed on a sailboat and raced weekly on the Delaware. He was proud to have raced in the Philly Cup at Penn's Landing a number of times. Classic cars were a passion. He was a member of the Ridge Runners Car Club. History was also a fascination for David. Not just learning about it but experiencing and living it. He was particularly drawn to the middle ages and the pirate era and was very active in the SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) for many years and once said "I exist for 50 weeks a year then I go to Pennsic and live for two." It was at Pennsic where he met Sarah. David and his beloved were also active in the steampunk community and in a post-appocalyptic group, APOC East. He loved life and touched so many people's hearts. He will be missed more than words can convey.
