Carol A.
Slattery
d. Mar 11, 2016
Carol Ann "Cool Carol" Manni Slattery of Devon met her maker on March 11, 2016 at the age of 78. She was at peace and surrounded by family at Paoli Hospital. Carol was born in Philadelphia on March 5, 1938 and had the privilege of sharing marriage with Richard "Skip" Slattery. They shared over 20-years of love and friendship.
She was a graduate of the Hallahan CGHS Class of '55. As an innovator, she started a day care center in her home located in Roxborough, a neighborhood in Northwest Philadelphia. The center blossomed to multiple centers, Four Seasons Day Care, located in the greater Philadelphia area. Children and their well being continued to be Carol's greatest passion.
Carol was blessed with a large and loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents Carl and Anna Manni; brother, Jack Manni and her husband, Richard "Skip" Slattery. She is survived by her sons Michael (Lydia), Joseph (Lori), Brian (Lisa), Robert and Thomas (Tracie); daughter Carol (Brian); grandchildren Lauren, Brianna, Robert, Charlene, Christina, Morgan, Ashley, Rachael, Stephen, C.J. and Danny; sister-in law Linda; nephew Carl (Ryei), Taiger (their son); and niece Nina Manni (Amir). She was raised with a large extended loving family that also served as best friends, especially Gerry Gorgol.
On March 26, 2016, Carol's life will be celebrated at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Ave. (cor. of Livezey), Phila., PA 19128. Visitation 10:00AM followed by memorial service at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol's name to Foundation for The Willen's Memorial Scholarship Fund, Paoli Hospital, 255 West Lancaster Avenue, MOB 3, Suite 231, Paoli, PA 19301 would be appreciated. Condolences may be shared at www.kollerfuneralhome.com.
The family would like to thank everyone at Paoli Hospital for their endless attention to their mother's physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. All who Carol encountered helped her to the best of their ability and vast resources.
So Go and Run Free
So go and run free with the angels
Dance around the golden clouds
For the lord has chosen you to be with him
And we should feel nothing but proud
Although he has taken you from us
And our pain a lifetime will last
Your memory will never escape us
But make us glad for the time we did have
Your face will always be hidden
Deep inside our hearts
Each precious moment you gave us
Shall never, ever depart
So go and run free with the angels
