Carol Rothman, of Roxborough, passed away suddenly on May 19, 2026, at age 76.

She was the devoted mother of Lindsey Haefner (Andrew) and loving Nana of Lukas. She is survived by brother Frank Dachowski (Donna), sisters Joyce Dachowski and Barbara LaRocca (Joseph), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carol grew up in Manayunk, graduating from St. Josaphat School and Roxborough High School. After receiving a BA in journalism from Temple University, she had a long career in advertising with the Philadelphia Inquirer and was an active union member, serving as secretary-treasurer of The News Guild-Communications Workers of America (TNG-CWA) from 2008 to 2013. She was vice president at large on the Guild's International Executive Board from 1983 to 1993 and was also proud to be the Guild's first woman and longest-tenured sector chairperson.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, May 29, 2026 beginning 10 AM, at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment is Private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in her memory may be made to the Lenfest Institute for Journalism or to a charity of your choice.
