KOLLER, Aloysius J., Jr .(Age 85)

Passed away peacefully on April 13, 2015, at home in Lake Suzy, FL. The cause was colon cancer. He was born August 23, 1929, to Aloysius and Anastasia Koller in Philadelphia, PA. He was preceded in death in 2009 by his wife of over 50 years, Dolores, as well as his sister Theresa, and his brother, Tom. He was a devoted father to Rick (Wendy), Kurt (Chris), Gerry (Charnan), and John (Kelly) and generous "Opa" to grandchildren Kurt Jason (Lauren), Kevin, Johannette (Rick), Aran, Jay, Seth, and Shane Koller, and great granddaughter, Harper Larsen.  He is survived by his brother, Eugene Koller, of Philadelphia, and several nieces, nephews, and their families. Known as "Al" or "Wish" to his many friends, his adventurous spirit and fine martinis will be greatly missed. He and Dolores traveled extensively while living in Laurel, MD, and Wildwood Crest, NJ.  Having served in the Air Force and Dept. of Defense for 35 years, he was a fiercely loyal patriot who maintained a lifelong interest in defending our freedoms. He took great delight in editors of major newspapers publishing his letters analyzing world issues. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 9 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church in Manayunk, (Philadelphia), PA with visitation preceding the mass at 9:15 AM.  Arrangements are by the Koller Funeral Home in Roxborough, PA.  Ashes will be interred at the Westminster Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd, PA.  Donations may be made in his memory to the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary at Camilla Hall, Malvern PA and the American Cancer Society.
