Richard J. DeLecce, age 98 (Dick the Barber) of Roxborough, formerly of Swampoodle, passed away on April 13, 2019. Dick was a lifetime resident of Philadelphia and long time member of Walnut Lane Golf Club. He served his country in World War II as a member of the U.S. Army. He worked for many yeas as a barber, both in Swampoodle and Roxborough, and then worked for many years at Tastykake until retirement.
Dick was a professional jazz guitarist and avid golfer who enjoyed both activities into his 98th year. He also enjoyed word games. No one could tell a joke like Dick.
Dick is survived by his son Richard J. Jr. (Deborah) and daughter, Carol A. Bice (Robert McMullin). Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, April 18 at 10 a.m. at Koller Funeral Home, 6825 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia. A Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
