On Tuesday August 6, 2019, Olga Scarci (nee Longo) passed away at the age of 80. Olga will
forever be remembered by her devoted husband Nino, and their children Tina (Michael), Lisa,
Nino and Dina. Olga will also be remembered by her granddaughters Christina (Andy), Valerie,
Carla, Erica, Natalie and Grace.
Olga was born to the late Albino and Constanza Longo in South Philadelphia, a place she held
dear to her heart. South Philly is where she met the love of her life, Nino. As the story goes,
they met when she was a waitress at Unique’s Diner where she served a “greaseball” a cup of
coffee and a piece of lemon meringue pie. They wed July 21, 1962 and recently celebrated 57
years of marriage.
Through the years that followed, they started a family and built a nurturing home that welcomed
all including family, friends and neighbors. It was a tradition to see Olga ringing in the New Year
by performing the Mummers Strut in the middle of Valley Avenue.
Olga loved music, singing and dancing which created memories that will live forever in our
hearts. One of those memories was Olga singing Que Sera, Sera which she would sing in
response to anything she could not change. So it is only fitting and with much love that we now
sing it to her:
Que Sera, Sera
Whatever will be, will be
The future’s not ours to see
Que Sera, Sera
Rest peacefully mom, we love you.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday August 10, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the
Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Andorra until her 11:00 AM mass of Christian Burial.
