Anna was born January 3, 1918 to Joseph and Philomena Latrechiano, Italian immigrants from Torren,
Italy. Anna was the ninth of ten children, and grew up in a loving household in the Manayunk area.
Anna graduated from St. John the Baptist High School. Anna and her family were active in their
community and local parish, St. Lucy’s. Through mutual friends in the neighborhood, Anna met her
future husband, Theodore. They were married in 1942 in their local church before he joined the war.
During the war, Anna moved to San Francisco where Theodore was stationed. She supported herself
through several factory jobs. Once the war was over, Anna and Theodore settled back in their
Philadelphia neighborhood. The couple was blessed with two children: Theodore Jr. and James. Then
through James and his wife, Vineta, she was also blessed with two grandchildren: Kristine and Matthew.
Throughout Anna’s life she was known for her devotion to her family, friends, and to her faith. Anna
remained very active in St. Lucy’s parish, often volunteering for functions and raising money. She loved
bingo and playing cards with her loved ones. Anna loved sweets and cups of tea, which her family
credited as her secret to a long life. Anna passed away on December 27th, one week shy of her 101st
birthday.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, Jan 3rd at 10 AM at St. John the Baptist Church 146
